How far are you from Town?

Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park is quietly located 4.5km from the town centre. There is a 24hr Caltex Starmart and Morel’s fruit and vegetable plantation less than a 5 minute stroll away and an IGA supermarket just over one kilometre away. The park is nestled amongst fruit and vegetable plantations.

Are you set back from the road?

The entrance to the Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park is well set back from the road. The park is narrow at the front but stretches back 400m making all of the lovely sites and accommodation well back from the road.

Do you have a swimming pool?

Yes. We have a sparkling swimming pool located alongside our Camp Kitchen and Recreation room.

Do you have grassy shady sites?

We have an abundance of lovely grass and shady trees at Wintersun Caravan and Tourist Park. From October to early May you can take a look around our park and select your own shady and grassy site. We also have sites with cement annexe pads.

Do you have good drinking water?

All caravan/camping sites and chalets have excellent drinking water.

THINGS TO DO

Do you have parking for large rigs/vans?

Yes. We can accommodate large rigs, buses and 5th wheelers. Please ring ahead to ensure that you have been allocated an appropriate site for your sized rig.

Do you drive through sites?

No, however we have friendly staff on hand to back-in your van or to guide you on site. We have large sites that are easy to back into as well as long sites for you to remain hitched up if you wish. These sites are subject to availability and seasonal variation.

Do you have parking space at the chalet for Boats, Campertrailers etc?

Yes, all of our chalets have adjacent parking spaces however they do vary in size. If you are towing a very large boat please phone our friendly staff to request a chalet with a large parking space (subject to availability).

Is it safe to leave valuables in the boat?

We recommend that you secure any valuable items inside your accommodation just as you would if you were in a large city.

Do you allow pets?

Pets are welcome at Wintersun all year round at the managers’ discretion.

  1. Caravan and camping sites: Pets are welcome in the park on all caravan and camping sites at the managers’ discretion. Application forms are available from reception.
  1. Accommodation: There is a number of chalets where pets are permitted inside (fees apply). Pets must have their own bedding and are strictly not permitted on furniture or bedding. Additional cleaning fees up to $200 apply for any breaches of this rule. For all other chalets and accommodation, pets must remain on a lead on the verandah and are strictly not permitted inside. A small booking fee applies. Additional cleaning fees apply if this rule is breached.

For yours and and your pet’s convenience we have:

  1. an off-leash pet area at the rear of our park
  2. extensive pathways surrounding Wintersun for you to exercise your pets
  3. a designated washing machine for you to launder pet bedding
  4. doggy bags
  5. portable cages for hire if you wish to securely enclose your furry friend on the verandah of one of our chalets
  6. information regarding veterinary and dog boarding services in Carnarvon

Pets are not permitted in communal areas (such as amenities blocks, swimming pool and camp kitchen).  The maximum number of pets per booking is 2.

Who can use the bowling green?

All guests staying at Wintersun are welcome to use our grassed, international sized bowling green during office hours. Green fees apply. Please enquire at reception. In the months of June, July and August there is organised daily competitions and carnivals for more experienced bowlers.

What activities are there for children?

At the park we have a playground with new funky monkey bars, a sparkling swimming pool, grassed bowling green (for children to use under supervision), a giant movie screen and lots of room for kids to ride bikes and be active. There is a fabulous playground at the Town beach, fishing off the One Mile Jetty or T-Jetty and interactive displays at the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum. You can walk, ride or scoot with your family to nearby attractions such as the Space and Technology Museum and Morel’s Plantation for delicious icecreams!

What facilities do you have for people with disabilities?

We have a large two bedroom chalet with wheelchair access as well as a newly refurbished bathroom for people with disabilities on caravan/camping sites. A $10 key deposit applies for the disabled bathroom for people on sites.

What time is your office open and what happens if I am arriving late?

Office hours are from 8.30am – 6.00pm 7 days a week (8.30am – 5.00pm in off-peak summer months) If you are arriving after hours, you are required to pay in full by credit card or direct deposit and a key, map and receipt will be left for you in a safe outside of reception. Please phone on the day of your arrival to obtain the code to access the safe. The code is a 4 digit number with the hash key either side (ie #1234#)

What discounts do you offer?

Weekly discounts on powered sites and chalets include “Stay for 7 nights but only pay for 6” (off peak only). Please phone our friendly staff for the most current rates and specials or look up our specials tab.

Current members of Top Parks of Australia receive a 10% discount capped at $40.00 upon presentation of a valid membership card.
